4 Beauty Tips To Perfect Your Chest

Exclusive access to expert wedding planning advice and resources from top industry professionals.
When it comes to bridal beauty prep, there’s a significant amount of neglect when it comes to a bride's chest!  Alas, blotchy color and rough texture mean these can look a generation or two older than the complexion they belong to.  So brides in the preparing to walk down the aisle, heed our warning – in person and in pictures, nothing ruins the vision of a blushing bride in a strapless gown quite like a leathery weathered ‘reptile triangle’ festooning the décolletage. Yikes! Have no fear, it is possible to even out rogue tan lines and compromised texture on your neck, décolletage, and upper back. But what you’re going to need will be determined by how much damage there is (though what you’re going to get may well depend on what you can afford.)
Here are a few tips for putting your best chest forward before your wedding day:
Start ASAP
The skin on the chest is thinner and doesn’t regenerate as quickly as that on the face, so whatever measures you take, the sooner you get started the better.  Work Your Topicals Every night, apply an exfoliating lotion or cream containing AHA, growth factor, or Retinol (or some type of Vitamin A derivative)from your forehead all the way down to the tops of your breasts. If the skin on your chest is sensitive, turns red or starts burning, switch to every other night to build up a tolerance.
Slather on the Sunscreen
Cover the same areas with an SPF 30+ as you do your nighttime topicals on any areas that might be exposed even just a little (and don’t forget the back of your neck).  Any treatments you do at home or get professionally will involve exfoliation and therefore make your skin photosensitive, that is, more prone to UV damage from the sun if they’re not protected.
Get into the Hands of Experts
While an aesthetic studio or med spa may be able to even out minor pigment and textural irregularities with a series of light peels, deeper rejuvenation for grooves, lines and spots will require the attention of a dermatologist’s office with an arsenal of rejuvenating lasers, ultrasound, radiofrequency and injectables that can do the heavy lifting.  Again, you’re probably going to need a series of so these aren't the last minute save but strategic skin-saving measures that need repeating.
