Vera Wang Wedding Dresses [Fall 2020 Collection]
Vera Wang is the biggest name in bridal and she's celebrating 30 years in the bridal industry the best way she knows how...by putting out a collection guaranteed to blow the entire industry away.
While her Spring collection was all about soft almost fantastical designs, for Fall 2020 these Vera Wang is showing us her dark side. Bridal fashion is something that never goes out of style, but it's also unusual to have a collection that truly makes people rethink what this classic facet of design is all about. A wedding dress is a wedding dress—it’s as simple as that. However, for Vera Wang a wedding dress is anything but simple. Each and every gown in this collection is a testament to Vera Wang as a forward-thinking designer who is always at the forefront of innovation when it comes to bridal style in the United States (or the whole world, for that matter).
How Much are Vera Wang Wedding Dresses?
It must be said that when you get to a certain level of designer wedding wear, the price pint isn’t going to be for everyone. The starting price for Vera Wang is $2,900. While the Luxe Collection starts at $6,900 and allows for more customization options. If you’re on the search for a bargain, Vera Wang may not be the designer for you (unless you are blessed by luck or willing to buy second-hand), however, when it comes to an expert designer like Wang price should not come before results, and the results of this collection are absolutely stunning.
Vera Wang Fall 2020
This collection is characterized by a frenetic combination of punk rock strength and classic feminine beauty. With gothic style lettering, ruffles with roughed up edges, and wild textures that will make you want to reach through your computer screen to touch, this newest collection from Vera Wang is anything but ordinary.
Look 1
The collection starts off with a bang, of course, this classic tulle train is offset by the gothic lettering (the first of several updated usages) and a midsection characterized by a tattered edged look. The dress further back shares the tattered edge style, a new move for wedding dresses by Vera Wang, but sets itself apart with a modern high-low look for a bride that’s not afraid to show some skin. Tulle may be a bridal staple, but Wang is giving it a whole new style.
Look 2
Black is back! (Did it ever really leave?) This all-black tiered gown is a definite showstopper for the brave bride who isn’t afraid to forgo the classic white wedding gown. With no lace and tulle in sight, the simple clean texture of this gown stands out from the crowd, drawing the eye to that showstopping two-tier skirt. Vera Wang isn’t afraid to go bold and keep it dark.
Look 3
The gothic lettering returns with this pair of dresses. Vera Wang is again showcasing a high-low skirt with soft ruffles offset by that unique lettering and an oversized black bow on the back and styled with some strong, black high heels. Paired with a flirty yet refined cocktail style dress, these two pieces have a particularly youthful look.
Look 4
These two wedding dresses are uniquely smooth for the collection featuring clean lines and long trains that offset the shockingly (in a good way!) short front of the new dresses.
Look 5
This is (almost) the closest we’ll get to lace in this dramatic new collection. While lace is seen as a staple in most bridalwear collections, Vera Wang has forgone the old in favor of the new. These sheer gowns with wild textured embellishments give an airy appearance with a strong undertone. Again, Vera Wang has opted to let the bride show a little leg with these mainly sheer gowns only being covered by simple, classic slips underneath.
Look 6
The highlow look is here to stay, but this time offset by long trains and plenty of texture. The off the shoulder sleeves is another attribute that just says punk rock princess in all the right ways.
Look 7
Both these looks utilize the bold lettering that is characteristic of this new drop. No doubt your love really will last forever if you look this good on your big day!
Look 8
The strapped back on this first piece is absolutely perfect—asymmetrical, simple, and stunning. Combined with the ivory satin this gown is guaranteed to make sure no one looks away as you walk down the aisle.
Look 9
Vera wang wedding dresses always say romance, even with the baddie undertones that this collection is suffused with. The sweet yet strong bow combined with the deep V on the back is everything we need.
Look 10
The trains—difficult to walk in but absolutely impossible to look away from. These truly make a statement from front to back and all the way around.
Look 11
These two pieces are utterly dreamy without having to rely on the classic lace and tulle that typically characterizes the princess look of wedding wear, you can see here that femininity still has its place even in a collection as strong as this one.
Look 12
Oh, we found the lace! And dang does it look good. Both of these pieces are absolutely stunning to behold with texture galore at the back and looks for days at the front.
Look 13
The ruffles almost give an oversized lettuce hem feeling, very in keeping with the increasing popularity of 90s fashion. But of course, Vera Wang utilizes it in its most classy form yet.
Look 14
This stunner is the last but certainly not least. While no one dress stands out too far above the rest, this uniquely modern almost-mermaid gown brings a unique architecture to this design like nothing we’ve ever seen before. David’s Bridal eat your heart out. (No shade, David, we still love you).
