An Inside Look Into Caitlyn Chase's Romantic Wedding

Caitlyn Chase, the renowned influencer and founder of Caviar & Cashmere, recently added a chapter to her love story with her partner Stefan, exchanging vows in an intimate wedding ceremony in the heart of Tuscany. With exclusive access to their private celebration, we dive into the couple’s enchanting journey from their first meeting to their unforgettable wedding day, offering a glimpse into their love story and the magical moments that defined their special day.

A Rom-Com Start

Caitlyn's love story with Stefan began in April 2023, thanks to the dating app Hinge. Stefan was the first - and last - person she went out with from the app. Their connection was instant and deep. After a week of texting and phone calls, they met for their first date, which was made even more special by Stefan's thoughtful gesture of sending a beautiful bouquet of flowers to Caitlyn's house.

He didn’t want to ask for my address directly, so he contacted a local florist and devised a whole scheme for her to get my address in order to send the arrangement. It was incredibly thoughtful and chivalrous, showing me his character right away.

Their first date, a five-hour conversation at at the restaurant Olivetta that continued with a stroll down Melrose Avenue, cemented their bond. By the end of the year, they were engaged, having known early on that they had found "the one."

The Dreamiest Proposal

Stefan and Caitlyn's inseparability was evident from the beginning. Family introductions came early, with Stefan forming a close relationship with Caitlyn's parents. Unbeknownst to Caitlyn, Stefan had asked her father for her hand in marriage just one month after they met, carrying the engagement ring in his golf bag during their outings.
In December, on a sunny Saturday morning, Stefan suggested a walk on the beach in Malibu - a place Caitlyn held dear from her childhood. After a relaxing walk, Stefan's nervousness became apparent, culminating in a heartfelt proposal on a blanket by the sea. The intimate, romantic moment, just the two of them on a beach special to Caitlyn, was perfect. The timing allowed for a celebration with both of their families during the holidays.

The Decision to Elope

Caitlyn always envisioned a small wedding. Despite exploring almost thirty different venues all over the world and considering both large and small weddings, nothing resonated deeply with them. Ultimately, they decided to elope, embracing their romantic, adventurous spirits.

Choosing a Wedding Location & Aesthetic

Stefan and Caitlyn are both hopeless romantics that love to travel and wanted something more intimate to reflect their vision of love and sense of adventure. Italy held a special place in Caitlyn and Stefan's hearts. Caitlyn had traveled extensively in Italy with her family, and Stefan's grandfather was from Italy. Their first date at an Italian restaurant in Los Angeles actually sparked a conversation about their mutual love for the country. It became clear that Italy, was the perfect destination for their intimate wedding and honeymoon.

My biggest piece of advice would be to choose a location you will want to visit in the future. One of the reasons we chose Tuscany, specifically Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco, is that we know it will always be a special place for us—one that will remain in our lives forever. We plan to visit for anniversaries and hope to bring our future family there one day.

Caitlyn's vision for her wedding day was an elevated, intimate, and unforgettable romantic experience. She wanted to include every element of the traditional wedding, except it was only for the two of them. For her florals, she enlisted the help from Giada from Il Giardino Delle Fate Flower Design. "Caitlyn wanted something elegant, refined, and in harmony with the surrounding landscape and vineyards. We used all natural elements from the countryside that surrounded the venue. To pay homage to the founders of the estate—fashion mogul Massimo Ferragamo and his wife Chiara and her love of roses—we decided on pure white and ivory roses and Tuscan greenery for her bouquet, Stefan’s boutonniere, and the centerpieces," says Giada.

The Stateside Ceremony

They still wanted to involve their families in a special way by having a legal ceremony with their parents in Los Angeles before eloping. This allowed their families to witness their commitment firsthand. The civil ceremony at Hotel Bel Air on Mother’s Day was intimate and special, setting the stage for their private elopement in Italy.

The Wedding Day: A Romantic Italian Affair

Despite being an elopement, no detail was overlooked. They had every traditional wedding element, from getting ready separately to a first look in a lavender garden, a beautiful ceremony with personal vows, a Michelen-star reception dinner adorned with floral tablescapes and candles, and dancing amidst the vineyards of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Caitlyn and Stefan were able to be fully present, cherishing every detail and moment of their special day. The intimacy of their elopement allowed them to focus solely on each other. The ceremony, where they recited personal vows, stood out as a favorite memory. The emotion and connection they felt were palpable, and the moment was theirs alone.
“Caitlyn wanted an intimate ceremony in the Borgo of Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco before running off to the neighboring vineyards for a quick photoshoot and a glass of their rare Brunello di Montalcino wine. Their romantic dinner for two at Casa Ferragamo had 360° views of the surrounding vineyards and the most beautiful sunset I’d ever seen,” says Giada, Il Giardino Delle Fate Flower Design.
After a romantic five-course private dinner at the top of the vineyard, Caitlyn wanted to change out of her wedding dress into something more comfortable for dancing. She slipped into a second look: a white silk mini dress with the cutest oversized bows designed by Alexia Maria.
They played their favorite songs and danced by the pool, just the two of them. Stefan spontaneously decided to jump in the pool in his tuxedo, shoes still on. Wanting to seize the moment, Caitlyn followed suit and jumped in with her dress on! They spent the rest of the night celebrating by drinking champagne and swimming under the moonlight until the early hours.
Another cherished memory was the morning after their wedding, when the hotel staff, who had helped Stefan with his Italian vows, eagerly inquired about how the day went.
Apparently, about ten hotel staff members were very invested in the project, and he was seen practicing his vows with many Rosewood staff the day before. He ended up nailing the pronunciation, and every time they walked past one of those staff members, they would recite his vow: “Hai il mio cuore e la mia anima, per sempre,” which translates to “You have my heart and soul, forever.”

Personal Touches During Their Big Day

To ensure they captured incredible photos and videos to share with family and friends, Caitlyn flew out her friend and photographer, Aria Askari.
Caitlyn kept her wedding dress a secret from Stefan, revealing it during a romantic first look in a lavender garden. Stefan also surprised Caitlyn with a custom tuxedo featuring sentimental details.

The inner lining of the suit jacket featured a rose print to match the roses he planted for me at our home, and our names and wedding date were embroidered on the inside of the jacket.

A Grand Celebration in Beverly Hills

While Caitlyn and Stefan's intimate Italian elopement was a dream come true, their love story continued with a grand celebration back in the States. In August, the couple hosted a lavish reception at Dante, located on the rooftop of the Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills, to share their joy with friends and family. The choice of venue was deeply personal for the couple. Stefan and Caitlyn had a special connection to the Maybourne Hotel, as it was the location of their second date and a favorite spot for their weekly date nights. The unique combination of a stunning restaurant with the hotel's rooftop pool deck provided the perfect setting for their vision.

La Dolce Vita: Bringing Italy to California

Caitlyn and Stefan wanted to transport their 120 guests to Italy, reflecting the charm of their elopement. Working closely with event planners from Savoir Agency and a team of talented, local female-owned small businesses, they brought their vision to life. The result was breathtaking: thousands of candles illuminated the pool deck as the sun set, while the tablescapes featured intricate arrangements of white dahlias, roses, tuberose, and peonies, complemented by fresh lemons, grapes, and tomatoes. Two long tables, perfect for their family-style five-course Italian meal, were set with blue and white vintage Italian china, stemware, and handmade Italian linens.

One of the best decisions I made was hiring a content creator for the day. I was thrilled to see all the details and candid moments I missed, as I couldn't be everywhere at once. They captured some truly special moments that we will cherish and look back on forever.

Unforgettable Moments & Personalized Details

The celebration was filled with unique and thoughtful details that made the event feel incredibly bespoke. Guests were greeted with custom tambourines bearing their names, which they used to welcome the couple to the classic Italian song "Che La Luna." Other highlights included custom pizza boxes designed by Caitlyn for late-night snacks, personalized espresso martinis with "Stefan Loves Caitlyn" and "Caitlyn Loves Stefan" messages, and an 80-pound parmesan reggiano cheese wheel used to prepare the Cacio e Pepe. Stefan's heartfelt welcome speech recounted their love story, from their first meeting to their decision to elope, moving guests to both laughter and tears and perfectly capturing the essence of their journey from elopement to this joyous celebration with loved ones.
From the intimate vineyards of Tuscany to the glamorous rooftops of Beverly Hills, Caitlyn and Stefan's wedding celebrations embodied the perfect blend of romance, adventure, and cherished moments with loved ones – a testament to their unique love story and the beginning of their beautiful journey together.
