10 Steal-Worthy Moments from "Bachelorette" Desiree Hartsock's Big Day

Us Weekly just released the first photos of former "Bachelorette" Desiree Hartsock's wedding, so we hit the newsstand to snag our very own copy of the much-anticipated issue! And boy, oh boy are we glad we did. Hartsock and her beau Chris Siegfried's wedding is full of so many wow-worthy details that you're going to want to steal for your own nuptials, Loverlies. Here are a few of our favorite moments from their big day...
1. Have a short and sweet ceremony.
The couple kept their religious ceremony to just 15 minutes. But the swiftness of service didn't make their "I dos" any less touching; they filled the time with sweet details, like a pianist playing Chantal Kreviazuk's "Feels Like Home"as they walked out as husband and wife.
2. Embrace a vintage vibe.
Hartsock told Us Weekly that she and Seigfried agreed "to keep things classy and vintage." We can't get enough of the wood tables, eggshell linens, and calligraphed place cards they worked into their reception. Other than the bridesmaid dresses, Des opted for soft, romantic colors for everything from the invitations to the flowers.
3. Bring the outdoors in.
Can't decide between an indoor and outdoor venue? Make like Des and Chris and choose a venue that lets you have both at the same time! The couple tied the knot at the Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verde, California, which is encased in glass and surrounded by trees. They also incorporated the great outdoors into their reception with rustic pieces (like an 11-foot old-fashioned bar) and earthy bouquets.
4. Pick a meaningful theme.
There's just something so romantic about a library, isn't there? The newlyweds chose the Redondo Beach Historic Library for their festivities as a nod to their mutual love of poetry. They also incorporated their bookworm tendencies into their tabletop decor in the form of floral arrangements and stacks of classic books. Take a page out of their book (see what we did there?) and pick a big day theme that says something special about you and your partner.
5. Rock TWO big day looks.
As we previously mentioned, Hartsock codesigned two looks with Maggie Sottero for her big day, and they were just as gorgeous as we imagined. While both dresses were long, her ceremony look was a fit and flare of ivory lace over blush tulle and her reception dress, a silver beaded chiffon sheath, was made for dancing the night away. Both were ethereal and had romantic little details.
6. Put your 'maids in red.
Hartsock's bridesmaids (including fellow "Bachelor" alum Daniella McBride!) wore a stunning shade of red. Their vibrant floor-length chiffon dresses were made by Donna Morgan, and we love how they each rocked a different neckline — some wore strapless while others chose to sport a v-neck or one-shoulder look.
7. Go for the (rose) gold.
The couple was totally on point with their choice of wedding bands; they exchanged pink-hued rings from Neil Lane (obviously) at their ceremony. The 4-carat ring that Seigfried proposed to Hartsock with was mixed metal, so her new bling fits right in on her ring finger!
8. Personalize your vows.
We're all for adding a personal touch to your "I dos," so we were excited to learn that Hartsock and Seigfried exchanged some intimate words. If you're planning to write your own vows, you might want to take some notes. Hartsock drew upon her beau's minor league baseball past:"Life is sure to pitch us some curveballs, maybe even some knuckleballs, but together I know we'll make it through and run the bases hand in hand. "And Chris went back to the beginning; he found the words he had written right after he proposed and pieced together something real romantic.
9. Fun food finds.
Des and Chris went all out with their food. They gave out their favorite candy (saltwater taffy) as favors and served childhood favorites like chocolate chunk cookies and mini milkshakes for dessert. And the cake? Oh man, the cake. They opted for a salted caramel and Oreo cake from Los Angeles-based bakery Sweet and Saucy
10. Go with an element of surprise!
If you watched Hartsock's season of the "Bachelorette," you probably remember that her first one-on-one date with Seigfried involved a live performance from Matt White. Well, Chris called in a few favors and got the man himself to come and sing "Love and Affection" for their first dance. And the best part? Des was completely surprised!
