Hearst Castle

Once an estate for a newspaper magnate, Hearst Castle is now a historic house museum and California State Park. Hearst Castle is located on Highway 1 along the majestic Central Coast of California. Nestled in the hills above the village of San Simeon, the Castle sits halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles and is approximately a four-hour drive from either of these metropolitan areas. The interpretation of Hearst Castle to the public through public tours is one of the most important aspects of our role as stewards of this cultural resource.
