A Romantic Summer Wedding at Pythian Cottage
Jay Diebel · Santa Rosa, CA
The Story
Pythian House was the main inspiration for the design of the event. Molly and Jeffrey really wanted to focus on the natural beauty of the lush surroundings and focus on the intimacy on the evening. Their ceremony florals were made up entirely of rented silk florals from Something Borrowed Blooms, while the tables had clustered arrangements of locally sourced dahlias from The Happy Dahlia farm in Petaluma. Their personal touches came in the form of locally sourced dahlias, enormous, live-edge wooden tables made by the properties owner and their blue 1966 Porsche, which they built together, then drove from Long Beach for the event. As a designer and creative in the wedding industry, what was most important to Molly was communicating their personalities quietly, while also supporting local vendors and keeping the overall foot‑print low.
