A Classic Dallas Wedding with Nods to New York City

Grant Daniels Photography · Dallas, TX

While both Texas natives, Caroline and Patrick's story began in New York City. Their lives had been quietly intertwined for years; having attended the same university for a year, sharing many mutual friends, and living in the same city after college with overlapping circles. Yet somehow, their paths never crossed until a mutual friend introduced them on a blind date. Patrick planned an evening of rooftop cocktails followed by a New York Knicks game, and from that first date on, they were inseparable. When planning their wedding weekend, the couple wanted guests to feel as though they had stepped into the story of their relationship. Working alongside Crystal Frasier Weddings, they wove meaningful nods to New York throughout the celebration, the city that brought them together. Dinner menus featured a custom watercolor illustration of the couple reading The New Yorker while watching a Knicks game, inspired by their first date. Custom Central Park matchboxes honored the place where Patrick proposed, while New York-style pizza made the perfect late-night snack in tribute to one of Patrick's favorite traditions. They even transformed one of the bars to mirror their favorite restaurant, The Polo Bar, allowing guests to experience a place that had become so meaningful throughout their years in the city. As an artist, Caroline hand-painted and designed the couple's entire invitation suite, believing that an invitation should offer guests a first glimpse into the celebrations ahead. Through her artwork, she was able to personally welcome loved ones to the town where she grew up while setting the tone for a weekend that felt intentional and joyful. "Our wedding day was absolutely perfect," Caroline shares. "People sometimes ask if anything went ‘wrong’, and to this day, I truly couldn't tell you because Crystal and her team made everything feel effortless. She understood our vision from day 1, and they brought our dream wedding to life. They gave us the greatest gift; the freedom to be fully present and celebrate with the people we love most.”
