A Boho Summer Wedding at The Venue at Winding Hills

The Story

With a beautiful landscape for an outdoor ceremony, and an incredible tent featuring draped ceilings and chandeliers for the reception, the Venue at Winding Hills was the perfect setting for this DIY wedding. The real magic of this wedding came through in the little details. The invitations were completely handmade by the bride and her wedding party, the bud vases used for center pieces were either found and collected by Brittany’s grandfather from his backyard, thrifted, or left over from their friends’ wedding the previous October. The table numbers were made by Brittany, using pressed flowers that were collected from their yard, her parents’ yard and flowers that her aunt had pressed from her yard, some of which were planted by Brittany’s late great-grandfather before she was born. The flowers used for the centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, flower crowns were grown specifically for the couples’ special day, and put together with the help of their friends and family the day before the wedding. The bride’s father used a chainsaw to carve the couple’s last name out of a tree trunk that measured six-foot long and weighed 200 pounds. The bride and groom also rented a vintage VW bus, which shuttled them to The Venue from their home and was used as an interactive backdrop for the couple’s polaroid guestbook.
