A Boho Spring Wedding at Brake and Clutch Warehouse
Heather Thompson Photography · Dallas, TX
The Story
Brake & Clutch, located in the artsy Deep Ellum district of Dallas, was originally a service warehouse operating in the 1930s. Since its renovation in 2017, the owners have transformed downtown Dallas weddings for the better. The first step to creating Casey & Micah's wedding vision was colors. Spring weddings often include hues of lavender, blue, pink, but Casey wanted a moody industrial look. At first, she was hesitant to go with such a fall-toned palette. After adding in shades of peach and a little ivory and reminding her that Brake & Clutch Warehouse is an untraditional venue, she started to gravitate towards moodier tones. Many of the photos captured on Casey & Micah’s big day were of them galavanting in the streets of Deep Ellum. Heather Thompson, the wonderful photographer, brought romance and class to their wedding day. She arrived over an hour early to capture details of the venue and florals and brought along an infectious attitude of fun and excitement that helped calm everyone’s nerves. What makes this wedding stand out is the intimate guest count and the relationship the couple had with each person. Larger weddings are fun for parties, but this crowd knew each other deeply and were over the moon to celebrate Casey & Micah’s nuptials.
