2022 Wedding Trends That Are About to Dominate

Exclusive access to expert wedding planning advice and resources from top industry professionals.
From the rise of bridal separates and mix'n'match bridesmaid dresses, to the influx of overflowing bouquets and eclectic food trucks, there were tons of new trends emerging in the wedding world. And as we kick off a new wedding season we can't wait to see what's in store. So, what matrimonial must-haves will couples be obsessing over? We've got nine predictions we'd put our money on in the new year.
1. A farewell to flowers. Ok, some brides and grooms will still opt for blooms, but many couples will be trading in traditional flowers for greens. Get ready to spot succulents, eucalyptus, lemon leaf, fern, lamb's ear, and dusty miller popping up in pretty bouquets and centerpieces!
2. Modern 'maids sporting separates. Now that brides have had their fun with separates, we're expecting to see more 'maids skipping the run-of-the-mill dresses, and slipping into skirts and pants paired with tops.
3. A total tulle revival. Yes, one of our favorite fabrics is about to make a major comeback! In 2022, we'll see lots of brides opting for tulle gowns and skirts, in classic whites and creams along with bolder options like blush and mint.
 4. Weddings that last all weekend long. Forget limiting the festivities to just one night! While extensive itineraries for guests were once reserved for destination weddings, more couples will be making the most of the whole weekend no matter where they're tying the knot this year.
5. A step away from centerpieces. Nearlyweds will be scaling back on standard centerpieces. Instead, they'll be embracing vibrant floral runners and gorgeous garlands laird across the tables.
6. Long tables filled with food. Farm tables have a growing fan base, and this year, we're expecting to see even fewer rounds. Fittingly, the main meal will be served family-style in place of a traditional plated lunch or dinner.
 7. LOL-worthy video viewings. Couples will be ditching the classic photo montage and getting creative with their videos. Remember the pair that reenacted their love story in the style of the TV show "Drunk History?" Get ready for more genius ideas like that in the new year.
8. Unfussy first dances. Brides and grooms won't be afraid to break the first dance rules in 2022. We're expecting to see more unexpected song choices, creatively choreographed moves, and other family members like grandparents, siblings, and close relatives hitting the floor with the happy couple.
9. Favors that are super sentimental. So long, Jordan almonds! Couples are skipping the throwaway favors and ending the night with homemade cookies, personalized photo gifts, DIY trinkets, and heartfelt handwritten notes. Better than a candy-filled velveteen bag, right?
