When it comes to choosing your wedding flowers, there's a lot to learn.
This week's flower is lavender.
Flower name: Lavender (Scientific name: Lavandula) Season: Spring and summer
Colors available: Purple
Care: When cutting lavender flowers, keep the stems as long as possible. Using scissors, cut the stem right above the leaves and place in a vase with cool water.
Fun fact: While it does have a flowering bloom, lavender is actually an herb. Signifying luck and a new adventure when given as a gift, this bloom is an aromatic addition to any bouquet or centerpiece. The darker the flowering bud, the more fragrant the lavender will be.
Average wholesale cost: About $12 a bunch
Why we love: Lavender is cost-effective and smells delightful! We love the idea of incorporating lavender throughout your wedding with food, signature cocktails, and, of course, your flower arrangements. Lavender is best paired with other wildflower-esque blooms like baby's breath, daisies, and heather flower.
