Marriage License in Greece

1. Both you and your partner need to provide documents that include valid passports or IDs, birth certificates, a certificate of marriageability, and a certificate of no impediment. All of these have to be translated into Greek and certified by a notary.
2. Schedule an appointment with the local municipality to submit your application for a marriage license.
3. Submit your paperwork, at least 8 days before the wedding but at most 3 months in advance.
4. Once you get married, you’ll have 40 days to register your marriage at the municipality’s registry.
