Take the style quiz to get personalized content.
Think summer engagement sessions get to have all the fun? Winter engagement sessions give you more opportunities to play around with your wardrobe and props, and if you're lucky, you might even get some snow. (And don't you just love photos with snow!?)

If you're planning a winter engagement photo session, here are some ideas to try.

1. Play with props.

You don't need to get fancy with props in a winter engagement session -- all you need are scarves, hats, hot cocoa, and a blanket. Bonus points for cute mugs or a pop of color in your winter accessories.

2. Get back to nature.

While it may be cold outside, you should definitely take advantage of that winter weather for some beautiful photos. Mountains, pine trees, winter skies, and snow make for some of the prettiest photos. And if you're in the city instead of the country, keep in mind that crowds are smaller in the winter so you're more likely to get photos at your favorite spot without a bunch of strangers around. 3. Light a fire.

Have a fireplace in your home? Consider a cozy shoot indoors with some hot cocoa. There's nothing more romantic, and that loving feeling will show in your photos.

4. Show off your winter wardrobe.

Pull out your cozy sweaters, winter boots, pom pom hats, and brightly colored scarves. Have a fabulous winter coat? Wear it! Have fun with your wardrobe and snuggle up in your winter best. You can do cute, fancy, or completely cozy.

5. Have fun!

Have a snowball fight, kiss under the mistletoe, cuddle under a blanket, make a snowman, or decorate your Christmas tree. Whatever you decide to do, if you're having fun, photos will show it. And reall,y those are the best kind of engagement photos.
