6 Apps to Download Before You Post That Engagement Selfie

Get ready to plan like a pro.
We believe that posting the perfect engagement ring selfie is an art. If you just said yes or predict it might happen soon, make sure you're totally prepared in the photo department. Having the perfect snapshot and video editing tools on your phone are just as important as freshly manicured nails when it comes to the ultimate snapshot of your new sparkler.
Here are six fantastic phone apps for rocking your proposal post.
1. VSCO Cam.
It's all about that filter. If you're looking for a larger filter selection than Instagram's options, check out VSCO Cam (short for Visual Supply Company). From moody to vintage, this app can add something special to your engagement ring snap. Some of our favorites are M3 Mood and T1 Moody.
2. Layout.
Instead of debating which photo to use in your announcement, make a collage. Put together a few shots from the proposal with the right tool. Layout, an Instagram owned app, has so many different collage styles to choose from. Now, the only problem will be deciding which pictures make the cut.
3. Afterlight.
Do you need a keen eye for editing those shots? Afterlight is a great and super easy to use app for editing images. We particularly like Afterlight because of the brightness and exposure tools. If your photo looks a tad too dark, this is the app that will lighten it up.
4. Over.
Are you all about fonts and design? Typography lovers can boost their sparkler shot with some creative copy. Use Over to add in hand-drawn or calligraphed elements to your images.
5. Boomerang.
What if a few snaps aren't enough? A unique action video might just be up your alley. Boomerang takes a series of photos within a few seconds and then turns them into a fun GIF. This app is ideal for snapping a post-proposal smooch or capturing the details of your bling.
6. Adobe Premiere Clip.
Did an onlooker or friend capture the proposal on video? Adobe Premiere Clip is a great way to edit short films directly on your phone. With many of the same features as video editing tools in Adobe's Creative Suite, this app will allow you to clip pics and piece together multiple scenes.
