Watch Out for These 4 Vendor Red Flags

The Save to Loverly button makes it easy to save your dream wedding inspiration and vendors to your planning dashboard.
Hiring your wedding vendors can seem like a daunting task, especially if you've never planned an event before. The first step in the process, after determining a couple contenders in each category, is to meet them in person to decide who you'd like to work with.
You’re going to work quite closely with your vendors during the planning process, so it's a good idea to spend some time figuring out who you want by your side to execute your big day and during the big event itself. And looking out for wedding vendor red flags is key.
While there are a number of factors that can go into making your decision—from each vendor's event style to how long they've been in the wedding biz—keep these warning signs in mind as you narrow down your final choices. More often than not, they will help you determine who's a true and trusted pro (and who maybe isn't...).

Here are four vendor red flags to watch out for:

Poor communication: If a vendor is slow to respond to your emails or calls, or if they don't answer your questions clearly, it could be a sign that they're not reliable or don't prioritize customer service.
Unprofessionalism: If a vendor is rude, disorganized, or otherwise unprofessional during your initial interactions, it's unlikely that they'll improve as your wedding day approaches.
Lack of experience: While everyone has to start somewhere, it's generally better to work with vendors who have experience in the wedding industry. If a vendor seems inexperienced or doesn't have a portfolio of previous work to show you, it may be worth looking elsewhere.
No contract or unclear terms: A reputable vendor should provide you with a clear contract that outlines their services, fees, and any applicable terms and conditions. If a vendor is unwilling to provide a contract or is unclear about their pricing, it's a major red flag that should not be ignored.
When planning your wedding, it's important to find reliable vendors who will help make your special day a success. Unfortunately, not all vendors are created equal, and some may raise red flags during the interview process. By being aware of these red flags, you can make sure that you're hiring vendors who are committed to making your wedding day a success.
