Bridal Baby Bumps: Maternity Wedding Dresses for Brides, Bridesmaids, and Guests

Exclusive access to expert wedding planning advice and resources from top industry professionals.
With so many engaged pregnant celebrities like Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Ciara, and Olivia Wilde, we're expecting -- no pun intended -- to see more mamas-to-be walking down the aisle in gorgeous maternity wedding gowns this year. Need a little advice on how to find a wedding-worthy dress for your bump? Read on for our top tips.

If you're the bride...

Highlight your favorite features. That might mean wearing a halter neckline that draws attention to your shoulders and collarbone, or a short dress that shows off your shapely legs. Let Elsa Pataky's high slit and embellished neckline and Natalia Vodianova's short, sleeveless red dress inspire you to show a little skin. Wear something that makes you feel amazing -- even if it isn't a traditional wedding dress.
While there are some gorgeous maternity gowns out there, you might also consider a bump-friendly party dress! We could definitely see a bride walking down the aisle in the floral Monique Lhuillier gown Drew Barrymore wore to the 2014 Golden Globes. Try something fitted! The days of hiding your growing belly under a shapeless muumuu are over. Try rocking a glam form-fitting gown, like Olivia Wilde did this winter. We love the way this silhouette makes her bump stand out.

If you're a bridesmaid...

When it comes to color, don't be shy. Pregnant celebs have put black on the back burner when walking the red carpet recently. From Kate Winslet in scarlet to Drew Barrymore in yellow, colorful dresses are a major trend among expectant actresses. So if the bride wants you to wear a colorful dress on her big day, own it!
Go bold with accessories. If you're comfortable in heels or wedges, glam up that gown with your favorite pair. As Ciara recently demonstrated, killer shoes can really kick up a simple maternity dress. If heels aren't an option, try statement jewels and a fabulous clutch.

If you're a wedding guest...

Throw on a great blazer. The best-dressed mamas-to-be know that a blazer is an easy and effective way to add structure to a flowy maternity dress. Take a lesson from Drew Barrymore, whose recent blazer and maxi dress combo gave us some major semi-formal style inspiration.
Go all out with your hair and makeup. Plan to get your hair and makeup done before the wedding so you feel like a starlet even if you'd rather be at home on the couch! If Kerry Washington has taught us anything, it's that it doesn't take much to enhance that natural pregnancy glow.
