Although Amy and Addison wanted to incorporate their Chinese culture, they weren't keen to have it be the center of their day. Traditionally they began their day with door games, and a Chinese Tea Ceremony. Amy also had 3 bridal looks throughout the day, by making subtle changes with her hair and adding a veil for the ceremony. Lastly, making the transition to non-traditional aspects of their day... The couple incorporated a first look to make for a short, sweet and simple 10 minute ceremony so that they could spend the majority of their cocktail hour making things legal with a registered officiant, again keeping it short and sweet so that they could actually spend intentional time with their family and friends.
Fun elements they added to their day- They included a Gelato station AND a ramen station for their guests to find as late night snacks. Their welcome signage was created to encourage guests to take "selfies". A live singer and pianist played during the ceremony and beginning of the reception which added an element of lively-ness. Lastly, guests found their seats with a small floral arrangement that they were able to take home!
