St. Paul Catholic Church

Colorado Springs, CO

About

Pauline Chapel, completed in 1919 and dedicated in 1925, was a gift from Spencer Penrose to his wife, Julie, a devout Catholic. Designed in the Spanish Mission style by Colorado Springs architects Thomas MacLaren and Douglas Hetherington, the chapel reflects the couple’s love of European religious art, much of which they collected during their travels in the early 1900s. Today, it remains a beloved venue for weddings and a welcoming place of worship for hotel guests and the community each Sunday morning.
