Mollie Higgins Photography

I’m Mollie, if you didn’t already know. I’m a full-time self-employed wedding photographer who lives in Leeds and who grew up in old Skeggy on the East Coast. I’m sure you have been on holiday there, most people I mentioned it have. I’ve been a photographer for let's say around 7 years now. Got my first camera on my birthday in 2015, my good little Nikon which I shot my first wedding with. Since then I’ve done all sorts of photography, whether it be bands, gigs, dogs, portraits, or products. I first got into weddings when a family friend asked me to photograph their wedding reception on a golf course back in Skegness. Looking back now, the photos aren’t the best but I definitely knew that this is what I wanted to do and learn more about. I began shooting weddings professionally probably a couple of months just before COVID-19 decided to ruin everything. I had many cancel or postpone, including some abroad (which I’m keeping my fingers crossed will still happen) however the few micro weddings I photographed during lockdown were so fun and intimate, and now here I am doing better than ever. In January 2023, I finally made the decision to quit my job working for Wex and go fully self-employed. Doing this during the off-season and in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis may have been a stupid idea, but I’m enjoying every moment of it and can’t believe how well things have been going so far.
