Hey friends! I'm Marianne, the owner and artist behind MTCD. You know those sappy RomComs where the girl falls for the guy that was in front of her all along? Well, I’m the girl. The guy is cake. I’m a classically trained Johnson & Wales graduate who never wanted to make cakes. I didn’t feel like I had enough time, couldn’t get out what I felt needed to get out. And then, just like in the movies, there was an “ah-ha!” moment; A couple of years into my first bakery job, I was sitting on my porch and realized that I had just spent 2 hours saving hundreds (literally) of cake designs that I wanted to try to recreate. And I actually caught myself thinking “well you’re obviously doing this for the rest of your life”.
