Founded in 2005 by cellist Andrew Mille with the creation of their first website, Classical Charleston began as a platform for a string quartet, trio, and duet—and has since evolved into a dynamic collective of musicians spanning nearly every genre. Led by violinist Tomas Jakubek, now adjunct faculty at the College of Charleston and a regular with the Charleston Symphony, the group continues to grow through long-standing friendships and deep musical roots. With connections to the College’s Jazz Program, the team also includes talented jazz artists who have helped shape Charleston’s vibrant music scene. Over 17 years, they’ve built lasting relationships with event planners, DJs, bands, and service providers, and in 2021, welcomed Arlene Felipe, who brings marketing expertise and a talent for sourcing exceptional musicians across the Southeast and beyond.
