A Whimsical Spring Wedding at Swallow Creek Ranch
Ryan Alonzo Photography · Cayucos, CA
The Story
Chris and Negin got married at a historic ranch on the California coast, featuring a ceremony with views of the ocean, and a reception in a blue barn dating back to 1863. For the ceremony, the couple opted to incorporate a traditional Persian Sofreh Aghd ceremony set up, as well as Western traditions such as "I Dos" and the exchanging of vows. In order to highlight the natural beauty of the coastal ranch, the couple chose a color palette of whites and greens, with accents of slate blue to match the ocean and the barn, and gold, a nod to the bride's Persian heritage. They also included natural elements like dried florals and pampas grass to add a touch of whimsy to the day. The reception was all about the guest experience and creating an elevated party atmosphere. The couple included fun details like a coffee cart, churros and ice cream, a caricature artist, a photo booth van, as well as a bumping dance floor with a mix of Persian and American music to get everyone dancing. As avid travelers, the couple also included subtle nods to their love of travel throughout the day including a globe for guests to sign and an escort display featuring luggage tags. Ryan Alonzo Photography was tasked with capturing the dramatic vistas of the day and utilized his experience as both a wedding and nature photographer to really capture the beauty of the California Central Coast region.
