A Glamorous Winter Wedding at Old Courthouse
Cleveland, OH
The Story
When you want a pastel wedding but your venue only has fall dates open…then you postpone due to the pandemic and end up with a winter wedding…you get this magical day! Megan and Kevin’s wedding proves that you don’t have to choose your wedding color palette based on the season and that small touches here and there can make all the difference. Megan and her mom’s favorite movie is “It’s a Wonderful Life” – rather than traditional place cards, each guest was greeted by a silver bell at their seat that they could take home with them as an ode to the movie’s iconic line" every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings”. Rather than stopping at candles, they adorned the staircase with candles, pastel florals, winter greens and even added cozy lounge areas at the base of each side of the staircase. They flanked these with live Christmas trees which added another wintery touch and made the venue smell amazing! At the base of the staircase, a tall tiered wedding cake in an ombre gradient rested atop an acrylic table filled with candles to complement the candelabras throughout the rest of the wedding. At the end of the night, Megan and Kevin exited down the main staircase outside surrounded by their guests waving Christmas candles. After being engaged for three years and postponing their wedding over a year, Megan and Kevin really wanted to soak it in so they headed back inside and shared one last dance just the two of them.
