7 Wedding Decor Items You Can Totally Reuse in Everyday Life

Collect, manage, and organize your wedding guest information for each event and track their preferences.

1
Chalkboard Signs

If you’d like to display stunning signs at the ceremony, on your bar for the drink menu, near the guestbook, and so on, you might want to buy these adorable little chalkboards. You can for sure use them again in your home. A sign hanging in your kitchen is perfect for writing down what items you need from the grocery store, while a sign in your office will keep track of your to-do list. You can also hang the exact messages from your wedding — “To Have & To Hold” or “You are the best thing…” — around your house as delightful decorations.

2
Cake stands.

In our opinion, one can never have too many cake stands. Even if they’re challenging to store, they have multiple uses. The first, of course, is for cake, which will come in handy anytime you’re having (or hosting) a birthday. You can also use cake stands as serving platters for small snacks whenever you’re entertaining. They’ll give height to your appetizer station or dessert bar, which makes for easy eating. Another great use? Displaying all things pretty. Put one in your kitchen to hold your dishwashing soap and sponge, one in your bathroom to display your perfumes, and one near your stash of jewelry to help organize all your gorgeous accessories.

3
Votives and fairy lights.

Any time you entertain, whether it's a holiday dinner or a backyard BBQ, you'll be happy you purchased those candles and string lights. Bust 'em out to create an instantly festive vibe. You could even string lights in your bedroom or use votives on your dining table to add some romance to your next at-home date night.

4
A tassle banner.

This festive décor item may seem like it has zero use post-wedding. However, this tutorial shows how to transform your tassel banner into a mobile for a baby’s nursery, which is a super cute way to include a wedding detail into your future baby’s room décor. (Though, honestly, we’d put this mobile up in our own bedroom or office for a little fun flair — no baby-on-the-way necessary to do this DIY!)

5
A Chuppah.

Renting a standing structure for your ceremony can be beyond pricey — and you only really use it for the 30 or so minutes you’re standing up on the altar. If you have a backyard — or your parents do — consider buying or constructing an arch, pergola, or Chuppah yourself, then placing it in the corner of the yard with a bench underneath. How cool will it be to get to sit and relax under where you said your vows for many years to come?!

6
Napkins.

Using tea towels as napkins has recently become a fun trend for rustic-themed weddings of late. And if you opt to buy out your local store, these towels gives you another great opportunity to reuse your décor! After the celebration, take the towels to the cleaners to have them power washed and then use them as kitchen towels and napkins in your home. How sweet will it be to bring to mind your big day every time you’re doing the dishes?!

7
Flower arrangements.

Rather than renting vessels from your florist or another vendor, source vases yourself! Whether you want basic clear, trendy mercury or vintage milk glasses, buying the vases will be more cost effective. An added bonus? Using your own vessels allows you to take all of your flowers home with you after the wedding — no need to pull the pretty arrangements out. Use the vases to display fresh flowers in your home, or give them away as gifts when you attend housewarmings and birthday parties.
