Hosting your first Thanksgiving this year for your new in-laws? While you're scrambling to find the best stuffing and pumpkin pie recipe, don't forget to give your tabletop some thought. At least you'll have a beautiful bouquet of flowers and festive table decor even if the turkey comes out of the oven a bit burnt! We got a chance to speak with Tam Ashworth from Isari Flower Studio who just put together a Fall Entertaining Workshop. We understand that meeting your S.O's parents over the holidays is oh-so-intimidating so read on for some of her key table and floral tips for all the entertaining needs this Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving Table Decor Table Tips
Go long and low with the centerpieces so people can see each other and talk.
Mood lighting is always a good idea with candles.
Don’t be afraid to use non-traditional colors (black, navy, metallic and chocolate browns).
Keep the décor on your table on the neutral side so that your florals pop.
Printing up your menu is an easy way to add a special touch.
Don’t feel like you have to use a bazillion pieces of flatware during the holidays. If your guests would be more comfortable with just a single fork and knife, keep it simple.
Floral Tips
Use greeneries to give the arrangement depth and structure.
The fall is a great time to incorporate fruits and other edibles into your arrangements (hops, cotton, berries, pomegranates, etc.).
Start in the middle of the arrangement and work your way out. Be sure to let your flowers breathe and let them extend past the edge of the vessel.
