10 Things to Get Rid of During Your Spring Cleaning

Looking to do a big sweep of your house this spring? With the seasons changing, it’s the perfect opportunity to really assess what you’ve got and get rid of the things you don’t use. Here are 10 things to consider getting rid of during your next major clean. 1. Clothes that you don’t wear. If you haven’t worn it all year, chances are you won’t in the coming year. Sell the clothes you don’t wear on sites like Ebay or Poshmark, or donate your clothes to your local Goodwill. 2. Expired or old makeup. No, you won’t want to re-try that shade of blue lipstick again. Toss the makeup you don’t wear and the makeup you’ve had for many, many years. 3. Outdated electronics. There’s no need to keep your Razor flip phone or outdated iPod sitting around. Sell or dump. 4. Dry cleaner hangers. Do yourself a favor and invest in some actual hangers. Your closet will look so much more organized just by swapping out those mismatched hangers. 5. Grocery bags. If you’re like us, then you hoard grocery bags in your pantry. There will never be an occasion when you’ll need 200 bags. Just get rid of some. 6. Tupperware with lost lids. We all have that drawer or cabinet with too much tupperware. Clean out the containers you don’t use, or the ones who’ve lost their lids. 7. Food that’s been in the freezer too long. If you’ve had meat or leftovers in the freezer for more than a few months, you should totally toss it. 8. Chachkies or books collecting dust. Now is the perfect time to get rid of the things you don’t really need. 9. Stacks of magazines or newspapers. Again, do you need these? 10. Toys or board games no longer in use.
