9 Date Nights That Don't Involve the Superbowl

Collect, manage, and organize your wedding guest information for each event and track their preferences.
With Superbowl 50 right around the corner, it seems as though all anyone can talk about is the Panthers and the Broncos. If you're looking for a respite from football or just a reason to think about something other than which dip you'll bring to that Superbowl party, here are nine date nights to try, stat. Check to see if your area has an annual Polar Bear Plunge, aka a mass of people jumping into freezing cold water. Pledge to take the plunge with your partner, then head out to grab something warm afterwards. 2. Throw and Oscars viewing party. The Academy Awards are on February 28th. Plan a viewing party with your pals, make predictions and cheer on Leo as tries again for his first Oscar. 3. Start a new Netflix series. There are so many fantastic Netflix series starting up this winter. Check out Netflix's lineup here and get ready to binge! 4. Join a co-ed sports team together. So it's not football, but is still sporty. Sign up for a local league with your S.O. and join forces on the field. 5. Catch an Academy-nominated flick. We've heard The Revenant, The Danish Girl, Steve Jobs, and Joy are pretty good! Head to the theater with your partner or plan a movie night at home for the films already out on DVD. 6. Have a Valentine's themed bake off. Use this sweet holiday as an excuse to try out those new recipes. The person with the most creative heart-shaped treat wins! 7. Host a grown up dinner party. If you're not into having friends over for the big game, have them over for a dinner party instead. Break out your fancy plates, cook something delicious and put on some retro tunes. Don't forget the wine! 8. Pick up a new skill. Take a class with your S.O. this year. Whether it's a cooking class, sports clinic or language lesson, you and your partner will love learning together. 9. Take advantage of your extra day. It's Leap Year and that means you get an extra day this month. Make it count by planning to volunteer with your partner or trying something totally new! couple_dinner_date Photo by Shalista Photography via Landlocked Bride.
