6 Totally Date Night-Worthy Activities

Exclusive access to expert wedding planning advice and resources from top industry professionals.
When it comes to date night, some couples might feel a little pressure to really step up their romance game. You know, to make up for the fact that you spent the rest of this week on the couch, wearing sweats. But honestly, who has the time, the energy, and the funds to pull off some creative-slash-schmancy date night action week after week? Especially if you're in the midst of planning a wedding. Date night doesn't need to be a grand gesture to be just what you two need to reconnect. Here are six totally acceptable things to do on a "date" with your partner that definitely don't require dressing up...or even doing your hair.

1. Binge-watching the last season of "Game of Thrones"...again. When you both love something, there's a chance for you to bond over it. If you can't resist watching the Starks and the Lannisters battle it out, by all means, veg out and relish the chance to be entertained, together. Being able to just relax with your partner is one of the best parts of having a partner, after all. 2. Getting your sweat on. Whether you hit the gym together, take a yoga class, or go on a hike (for a date day), exercising with your partner is not only a great way to stay fit, it's a fun thing to get in the habit of doing. By keeping active, together, you're encouraging each other to maintain healthy habits for years to come. 3. Playing board games, just the two of you. From Pick-Up-Sticks to Trivial Pursuit to Gin Rummy, there are a number of games that only require two players for a night of fun. Being a little competitive with your partner adds a bit of excitement to your relationship—and you don't even have to leave your home. 4. Making the world a better place. Take part in a beach clean-up or volunteer to serve meals to the less fortunate the next time you're looking for something to do together. Being altruistic and lending your time with not only help those in need (or even the planet as a whole), it will make you both feel good, too. 5. Ordering take-out...but putting your meals on pretty plates. Sometimes, all it takes is breaking out the fancy china you registered for (but still haven't used) to spice things up. 6. Sharing a bottle of wine and laughing at cat videos. Come on, doesn't that sound like the best idea ever? Some of the most memorable, fun date nights are when you're doing something completely silly or weird that only you two would find fun. Whatever that may be, do it — and do it often — to strengthen that unique, crazy bond you have. -- By Natasha Burton Want more relationship tips? 9 Ways to Have a Happy, Healthy Relationship IRL 9 Signs You’re Ready to Move In Together Wisdom to Help Your Relationship Survive a Remodel
