This Father's First Gift to His Five-Year-Old Daughter Became the Inspiration Behind Her Whole Wedding
05 Oct 2016 •2 min read
"Some things were well worth the wait," said Lauren's now husband, Josh Weber, who waited three hours for Lauren to arrive on their first date. Three years later, on Lauren's birthday, the sweet duo exchanged wedding vows at the Christ Church Cranbrook, which is near and dear to their families.
Scottish bagpipers led Lauren and her father down the long church aisle to an eagerly awaiting groom. Following the tradition, the marching musicians also escorted the newlyweds and their bridal party out of the church.
Following the ceremony, friends and family gathered at the elegant Oakland Hills Country Club for the reception. Comfort was key to the family, so they made sure guests got a warm welcome.
Meanwhile, Bill Hamilton designed an inviting space and brought in Gourmet Invitations to help design all the printed materials, including a reflective six-foot-tall seating chart inspired by that childhood gift given to the bride when she was just five years old.
