Biography
Miriam was born and raised in Germany; she moved to New York in 2000, she now lives in Brooklyn. Miriam holds a degree in Fine Arts and Graphic Design; she worked as a designer for a prominent art gallery during her first years in NYC. She started to bake creative cakes for friends and family for their special events in her spare-time.
Miriam launched BCakeNY in 2009, after throwing a baby shower for a friend who was in need of a special cake for her big day, but Miriam’s small business eventually began to take off after she started receiving a few requests from some unexpected customers like Kourtney Kardashian who tapped the company to create a special cake for her very own baby shower. The bakery has drawn in fans including Jay-Z, Rihanna, Cardi B, U2 and Diddy.
While BCakeNY’s clientele list ranges from celebs to household name brands, Miriam says she’s not a “celebrity baker.” The bustling business owner’s inventive cakes are made for everyone, especially Brooklyn’s melting pot community where her business is currently located.
