Felicia and Nico love New York and when they planned to elope in fall of 2020, they knew the only things they needed for their wedding were their city, and each other. They'd hoped to have their ceremony at city hall, but with the marriage bureau still closed in late October because of COVID, they pivoted to another iconic location with its fair share of people-watching: Central Park, where they eloped on an unseasonably warm Friday afternoon. Only three friends witnessed their ceremony, including Felicia's best friend Jasmine Chong, who is an incredibly talented clothing designer (she was a contestant on the reality competition show Making the Cut, hosted by Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, earlier this year). Jasmine made the stunning green velvet jacket Felicia wore over her dress for most of her wedding photos (it's called the Archer, and I've always dreamed of wearing it myself), and I loved how the deep green popped against the fall colors and stone in the park and outside the Met. Tasha Muresan of BLOOM BLOOM, one of my favorite up and coming NYC florists, created an unexpected bridal bouquet with brownie tulips, orchids, ranunculus, roses and more. Felicia and Nico were so effortless and comfortable with each other and I absolutely love this elopement, and these photos. If the past few months have shown me anything about the future of NYC weddings, it's that couples are excited for ways to continue to use the city and its iconic backdrops to elope; with Central Park, you get an absolutely stunning wedding "venue" that goes with everything and will always be open.
