A Classic Summer Waterfront Wedding at Battello

For this elegant, mid-July fete at Battello overlooking the Manhattan Skyline, the bride, Bria, had ample experience decorating and planning weddings. As a florist herself, and one that has worked her venue several times, she had her venue decked out to the very last corner. Bria dreamed and planned a summer wedding on the water at her favorite restaurant. Ivory florals with lots of greenery, a splash of peach for summer color, and a common theme of turquoise both in the color of the city skyline, as well as being the exact same color of Bria’s eyes. Kevin, her groom, perfected the white tux. In lieu of boutonnieres, the groomsmen sported monogrammed handkerchiefs and the "Man of Honor" was differentiated by his floral handkerchief. They had the perfect July day. Battello was completely transformed with hanging greenery and straw-woven lanterns hung from the beams, bringing the outdoors in further with the aisles lined in florals. As Bria descended the stairs to line up for the ceremony, Kevin’s face lit up – this before the ceremony even began! Every sunset is different, and Bria and Kevin’s was truly special. With the Manhattan skyline glowing gold in the reflection of the setting sun, the doors of Battello swung open and the indoor party was brought out, giving guests an easy flow of indoor dancing in candlelight and filament incandescents.
