Exclusive access to expert wedding planning advice and resources from top industry professionals.
While many brides and grooms worry about big day mishaps and surprises, most couples aren't expecting a major emergency mid-ceremony, right? Well, pro photographer Chantelle Botha, was shooting a wedding in Port Edward, South Africa, when she felt a sudden impulse to turn around towards the surf, according to Fox News. And when she saw a five-year-old boy being pulled out of the water by two other children, she dropped her camera just before the "I dos," and rushed over to help. When she discovered that the boy didn't have a pulse, Chantelle quickly performed CPR and helped the boy to breathe again. He is expected to make a full recovery. In October, a paramedic bride in Tennessee rushed to the scene of an accident on her big day when she realized some of her family members were involved in the crash. And, in September groom Cody Campbell performed the Heimlich maneuver on a choking guest during the wedding toast. We totally applaud Chantelle and these brave brides, grooms, and vendors for stepping in to save the day!
