Role Description: 
We are seeking a seasoned editorial leader with extensive experience building and managing an editorial calendar and team. This person would lead Loverly’s editorial and content initiatives on site and across all channels: email, editorial, social, podcast, and partnerships.  Reporting directly to our CEO, this person will partner with our VP of Brand Marketing to create a long-term growth strategy around compelling, relevant content for our audience.
We are looking for a skilled wordsmith with a deep understanding of SEO, content marketing, and strong  experience crafting high-performing stories with a distinct editorial voice, style, and POV. Our ideal candidate has experience producing trendy/provocative listicles as well as longer-form pieces to drive organic growth via search. 
Insights should inform your content strategy so you write with purpose – candidate should have experience with Google Analytics to measure performance of content and unlock opportunities for more growth.  Additionally, the EIC will be responsible for reviewing, managing, and updating legacy content (a database of thousands of wedding planning articles) to ensure accuracy, relevancy, and overall positioning to optimize new customer acquisition. 
This role will also manage and oversee scheduling, production, and content marketing for our newest channel, the Loverly Podcast. Inclusive of researching talent, scripting questions, and promotion of launched episodes.
  • Owning the overall Brand voice for all Loverly Content and all written materials across marketing, content, partnerships, press and podcast
  • Developing, maintaining and measuring our cross-platform editorial strategy and process
  • Write new Loverly trend-driven articles weekly, plus revisit and revise 1-2 article topics each week
  • Develop the process for content writing, including SEO research and brief building, execution, performance tracking and optimizations 
  • Collaborate with all teams to build and maintain an content calendar, across editorial, social and email 
  • Develop email content that is aligned with overall content calendar and promotion timelines, inclusive of weekly reporting
  • Collaborate with the Partnerships team for sponsored editorial content deliverables and deadlines 
  • Build and manage a team of editors, writers, and contributors and ensure that the content they produce are in line with Loverly brand voice and tone. These writers would create a wide array of tend-driven and impactful editorial content including but not limited to wedding planning, trends, vendor relations and social content
  • Own podcast research, script writing, transcripts, and additional promotional materials
  • Work with VP, Brand Marketing on any PR press releases and promotional materials needed 
  • Manage and oversee the editorial content budget for freelance writers and contributors 
  • Responsible for growth of overall Loverly site organic traffic and SEO rank
What We’re Looking For: 
  • A seasoned wordsmith with a background working closely on a brand or media agency editorial team
  • Experience in content strategy and writing long-form editorial content
  • Detail and data-oriented, with a strong understanding of SEO and performance-writing (keyword research, competitive research, post-publication analysis and optimization) 
  • A team player who is willing to work with all departments and resources 
  • Personable - ability to interact with our podcast talent to design and develop an episode both they and our audience are extremely excited about 
  • Creativity and the ability to bring new perspectives and angles to our evergreen topics 
  • Excellent organization skills and extremely detail oriented with the ability to provide efficient creative solutions  
  • Passion for weddings and lifestyle content
